The biggest, baddest cookie in town!

Brown butter is my jam! It takes recipes to a whole new level, especially this chocolate chip skillet cookie. Baking this dessert brought back a flood of memories from my college days, making skillet cookies with my roomies. This Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie is a delightful treatārich, chewy, and absolutely perfect for sharing.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups chocolate chips
Butter or cooking oil (for greasing)
Ice cream, Nutella, sprinkles, etc (for topping)

Brown butter is butter that has been heated until the milk solids turn brown. It has a nutty aroma and adds a rich flavor to baked goods.
How to Make Brown Butter:
Here's a step-by-step guide to making brown butter:
1. Preparation: Cut the butter into small, even-sized pieces. This helps it melt more evenly.
2. Melt the Butter: Place the butter in a light-colored saucepan over medium heat. The light color helps you see the color change as the butter browns.
3. Start Heating: As the butter melts, it will begin to foam. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon or heat-resistant spatula to ensure even heating.
4. Watch Carefully: As the butter continues to heat, the foam will start to dissipate. You'll notice the color changing from yellow to golden and then to a deep amber. This process usually takes about 5-8 minutes, but it can vary depending on the heat and the amount of butter.
5. Smell the Aroma: Brown butter has a nutty aroma that is distinct and delightful. Once you start to smell this nutty fragrance, it's a sign that your brown butter is ready.
6. Remove from Heat: As soon as the butter reaches a deep golden color and gives off a nutty aroma, remove the pan from the heat.

Baking Instructions:

5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
6. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.

8. Grease a 12-inch skillet with butter or cooking oil.
